Back for its second year the Muskoka Loppet Snowshoe Event was a huge success. Indicative of the growth of our sport, we had 43 participants this year, compared to four last year. Here's why:

Perfect weather conditions greeted the sprinters at the 2010 Empire State Games snowshoe races held on Saturday, February 20 at Paul Smith's college north of Saranac Lake, NY. Participants must have qualified at events held throughout New York before competing in the games. Here are the details of the wonderful experience for the racers:

This is it! The week of the USSSA PowerSox Nationals at the Highland Park, Fabulous Fabius, New York. All Qualifying races are done, recorded, the results posted. Qualified Snowshoers are making their way to the snowshoe warrior battleground at all points Tully, using every mode of transportation available. Get there if you dare . . . You dare not get there!

After seven lucky years of hosting the Camp Saratoga Snowshoe Race, the Saturday, February 13th date didn’t faze us at all.  By this time Jeff and I had so many long time volunteers and participants in place that things ran about as smoothly as could be expected for ‘The Year of No Snow.’  The only confusion? Read on, campers:
