Assimilation of these nutrients in the form of a smoothie will rapidly enhance recovery.

There’s something about having a shovel strapped to your pack when snowshoeing; it makes you look pretty serious about your shoeing experience.  It says, “That guy is going to a place where the snow is pretty deep.”  Well, yes, that’s the ticket.  As the publisher/owner of Snowshoe Magazine, I only go where the snow is deep.  Not really.  I consider myself lucky if I’m out in the backcountry with my trusty snowshoes…and now with my Seattle Sports Co. Snow Shovel.

For the Snowshoemag crew, Arc’teryx has become the holy grail of outdoor gear brands.  Our requests to even touch a garment with an Arc’teryx logo were ignored for the past few years.  Was it some it something we said?  Evidently not, because the pigs have now taken flight and it’s getting chilly in hell; we were able to test the Arc’teryx Venta SV Softshell jacket.  Nonetheless, we love supporting Arc’teryx because they make great gear…and they’re Canadian.  And nowadays, Canada is all the rage.

Having a pair of Kahtoola Microspikes on hand is just as important as having a snow shovel in the garage: You need it on occasion when the time is right.  Several times this winter I’ve used the Microspikes for everyday use and for some light runs around the neighborhood.

Here's a story you can probably relate to, in one way or another:

I was on a snowshoeing trip and decided to stop by a frozen creek.  I needed some water, so I broke open the ice and dropped in my filter.  But that's not all I dropped in the water: My GPS device fell from my backpack and into the water.  Panic.

At the time, I didn't have anything to help dry out my device.  Granted it was submersed for only a few seconds (in extremely cold water).  All I could do was take out the batteries and wrap it in some cloth.  Later, I was happy to discover that it was still working, but the display had some defects and the button reaction time was delayed.  It hasn't worked the same since.
