Here's a story you can probably relate to, in one way or another:
I was on a snowshoeing trip and decided to stop by a frozen creek. I needed some water, so I broke open the ice and dropped in my filter. But that's not all I dropped in the water: My GPS device fell from my backpack and into the water. Panic.
At the time, I didn't have anything to help dry out my device. Granted it was submersed for only a few seconds (in extremely cold water). All I could do was take out the batteries and wrap it in some cloth. Later, I was happy to discover that it was still working, but the display had some defects and the button reaction time was delayed. It hasn't worked the same since.

Nothing is worse when out on the trails for a long snowshoe hike or run than bonking. Bonking comes as a result of running out of fuel to your working muscles by not taking in enough calories during endurance events. This can range from a simple inconvenience that makes your snowshoe outing a little less fun all the way to being downright dangerous in extreme cases if caught a long distance out on the trail in cold conditions. If your body starts shutting down and quits operating as efficiently as normal, you can also become more prone to hypothermia or frostbite by not being able to generate as much heat.

As always, Mountain Hardwear doesn’t disappoint with a jacket that’s stylish and extremely durable.

Keen has always kept me safe and confident on the snowshoe trails - year after year. What many people don't understand is that Keen's trail shoes are perfect for snowshoeing. Keen's trademark rubber sole - curving over the toe of the shoe - fits wonderfully with most snowshoe bindings. Keen shoes are convenient on many levels: They're rugged, tough, stylish, and engineered to withstand the cold outdoor elements. This past season, I had the chance to test two different Keen boots, the Voyageur and Winterport, in combination with two different Keen merino wool socks. After my review, I concluded only one thing: Same as usual...Keen products never disappoint.
